Today, I will try to keep you away from the simple illusion that there is a machine capable of ironing your clothes, especially if your collection consists of mid/high end garments.

Let us be clear about this.

You have almost arrived at the end of the long process that will bring your products to the end customer: ranging from the initial concept to design, all the way to production etc. Without analyse all the details of the work that has been done up to now, now you are in the situation where you have to choose the vendor to “refine” your garment before it reaches the customer.

 

In my opinion, this is one of the most important moments in your business because there is no room for error.

To obtain an impeccable result, you must avoid “steam machines” like the plague. These machines are not able to detect the wrinkles that inevitably form on leather garments and they do not absolutely know how the garment should be ironed. Being incapable of “scanning” or “seeing” the shape of the garment, they cannot even decide the kind of “ironing” that has to be performed on the garment itself.

You must be able to count on those who do not try to automate this work, but to make the work as easy as possible, thereby combining craftsmanship and experience.
